1998

June Jack Schwarz sells CeCorr to Georgia Pacific.

July Schwarz Partners is formed with a business focus related to the manufacturing of corrugated sheets and expanding to different segments of the corrugated industry. The company’s only business holdings at the time are TransCorr, a transportation company, and GHS Associates, a scrap brokerage.

November Flutes, a Schwarz Partners affiliate, commences production of microflute sheets in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 

Early Expansion

1999

March Schwarz Partners enters the corrugated converting business with the purchase of MOPAC, WOPAC and NIPAC which is the first step into what is now The Royal Group.

2001

January TransCorr forms its freight brokerage division, TransCorr National Logistics, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

December Schwarz Partners purchases a full box plant, MaxPak, in Lakeland, Florida.

2003

February Schwarz Partners opens its first co-op sheet feeder, Freedom Corrugated, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

2004

September Schwarz Partners purchases sheet plants Dalton Box, located in Dalton, Georgia, and Package Craft, located in North Carolina, as well as other locations in Florida and Louisiana.

December Schwarz Partners opens its second co-op sheet feeder, Independence Corrugated, in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

2005

June Schwarz Partners assumes management responsibility for Pinnacle Corrugated in Landis, North Carolina, the company’s third corrugated plant.

2006

July Schwarz Partners purchases the sheet feeder operation of Interstate Resources in Miami, Florida and renames it Schwarz Partners Packaging Miami.

August Schwarz Partners purchases The Royal Group, with a full box plant in Cicero, Illinois, and sheet plants in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Tennessee.

2008

April TransCorr acquires another trucking company: Tom Joy and Son in Peshtigo, Wisconsin.

2009

February At the height of the great recession, Schwarz Partners opens its fourth co-op sheet feeder, Northern Sheets, in Sacramento, California.

September Schwarz Partners merges all its packaging plants under one name, The Royal Group.

2010

January Schwarz Partners opens its fifth co-op sheet feeder, New England Sheets, in Devens, Massachusetts.

2011

September Schwarz Partners opens its sixth co-op sheet feeder, Heartland Sheets, in Kansas City, Missouri.

2012

June New-Indy Containerboard, a joint venture with The Kraft Group, is formed and purchases two recycled containerboard mills in Ontario, California, and Oxnard, California.

2013

October Schwarz Partners opens its seventh co-op sheet feeder, Central California Sheets, in Kingsburg, California.

2014

March GHS merges with Integrity Fiber Supply to form the recycling business.

June Schwarz Partners opens its eighth co-op sheet feeder, Alliance Sheets, in Bristol, Indiana, home of the first 132-inch corrugator in North America, known as “Paulson’s Pride,” in honor of Terry Paulson.

November TransCorr forms a new third-party-logistics operation, TransCorr Global Solutions, based in Detroit.

2015

January New-Indy Containerboard purchases Carolina Container Company, which operates box and sheet plants in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky.

April TransCorr purchases Indiana-based Venture Logistics, which doubles its fleet size, and enters the warehouse and fulfillment business.

June New-Indy Containerboard acquires the U.S. operations of Forest Resources, which includes Hartford City Paper, a medium mill in Indiana, and Hartford City Paper Recycling, a recycling operation in Indiana. The acquisition broadens New-Indy’s supply position of containerboard in the upper Midwest. The Royal Group purchases Shillington Box in St. Louis, Missouri.

October Schwarz Partners opens its ninth co-op sheet feeder, StarCorr Sheets, in Temple, Texas.

2016

January Schwarz Partners purchases Indiana Knitwear, a manufacturer of licensed sports apparel and other sports-related garment items, based in Indianapolis with manufacturing in Guatemala.

August The Royal Group purchases a corrugated sheet plant, Touchpoint, in Seymour, Indiana. Venture Logistics opens a new rail-served warehouse facility in Indianapolis, in partnership with the Indiana Railroad.

December New-Indy Containerboard acquires TriPAQ, a packaging business with facilities in Santa Ana and Cerritos, California; and Mexicali and Tijuana, Mexico. New-Indy Containerboard acquires Container Service Corporation (CSC), a corrugated box plant headquartered in Ringgold, Georgia.

2017

February Integrity Fiber Supply purchases River Valley Paper Company, an Akron, Ohio-based recycling company with locations in Akron, Ohio; Syracuse, New York; Kalamazoo, Michigan; and Yulee, Florida.

March Schwarz Partners opens its tenth co-op sheet feeder, EnCorr Sheets, in Ontario, California, home of the second 132-inch corrugator in North America.

September Northern Sheets and Central California Sheets are sold to Packaging Corp. of America.

2018

October Schwarz Partners opens its eleventh co-op sheet feeder, North Star Sheets, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.

December New-Indy Containerboard acquires Resolute Forest Products’ Catawba paper and pulp mill located on the Catawba River in Catawba, South Carolina. New-Indy plans to convert this facility into the premiere ultra-lightweight, high-quality virgin containerboard mill in the United States.

2019

January Integrity Fiber Supply purchases waste brokerage company, Marck Trading, in Appleton, Wisconsin.

May New-Indy Containerboard acquires corrugated packaging and display company, Proactive Packaging and Display, in Ontario, California.

July Schwarz Partners celebrates 20th anniversary.

August The Royal Group acquires SPA Inc., in Milford, Ohio, which specializes in software and consumer electronics distribution, third-party logistics and multivendor programs.

September Schwarz Partners and Lauth Management partner on a new office building, Agora at the Proscenium, in Carmel, Indiana. Part of the office space consists of the new Schwarz Partners corporate office.

October Schwarz Partners opens its twelfth co-op sheet feeder, Triumph Sheets, in Cleveland, Tennessee, with the largest triple-wall corrugator in the United States.

2020

January New-Indy Containerboard acquires Montebello Container Company with corrugated box facilities headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California. Schwarz Partners opens its thirteenth co-op sheet feeder, StarCorr de Mexico, in Monterrey, Mexico.

April New-Indy Containerboard acquires Shoreline Container, which operates box and sheet plants in Holland and Zeeland, Michigan.
