Our Story

An ever-evolving company

Founded in 1998, Schwarz Partners began as an independent sheet feeder and grew to include partner companies in the packaging, paper, transportation and recycling industries. Founder Jack Schwarz and his sons, John and Jeff, cultivated their business by putting employees, customers and suppliers first—and by consistently investing in facilities, equipment and technology.

Jack’s Passion for People

1998

June Jack Schwarz sells CeCorr to Georgia Pacific.

July Schwarz Partners is formed with a business focus related to the manufacturing of corrugated sheets and expanding to different segments of the corrugated industry. The company’s only business holdings at the time are TransCorr, a transportation company, and GHS Associates, a scrap brokerage.

November Flutes, a sheet feeder located in Indianapolis, Indiana, commences production of microflute sheets.

Early Expansion

1999

March Schwarz Partners enters the corrugated converting business with investments in MOPAC, WOPAC and NIPAC, which is the first step into forming what is now The Royal Group.

2001

January TransCorr forms its freight brokerage division, TransCorr National Logistics, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

December MaxPak, a full box plant in Lakeland, Florida, is added to the expanding portfolio of investments.

2003

February The first co-op sheet feeder, Freedom Corrugated, begins operations in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

2004

September Dalton Box, located in Dalton, Georgia, and Package Craft, located in North Carolina, as well as other locations in Florida and Louisiana, are added to the portfolio of investments.

December The second co-op sheet feeder, Independence Corrugated, opens in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

Ongoing Commitment

2005

June Pinnacle Corrugated in Landis, North Carolina, opens as the third co-op sheet feeder plant.

2006

July Interstate Resources in Miami, Florida is added to the portfolio of investments and is renamed to Schwarz Partners Packaging Miami.

August Schwarz Partners invests in The Royal Group, with a full box plant in Cicero, Illinois, and sheet plants in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Tennessee.

2008

April TransCorr acquires another trucking company: Tom Joy and Son in Peshtigo, Wisconsin.

Resilient Years Spur Collaboration

2009

February At the height of the great recession, Northern Sheets, the fourth co-op sheet feeder opens.

September All packaging plants merge under one name, The Royal Group.

2010

January New England Sheets, the fifth co-op sheet feeder, opens in Devens, Massachusetts.

2011

September The sixth co-op sheet feeder, Heartland Sheets, opens in Kansas City, Missouri.

2012

June New-Indy Containerboard, a joint venture with The Kraft Group, is formed and purchases two recycled containerboard mills in Ontario, California, and Oxnard, California.

Poised for Growth

2013

October The seventh co-op sheet feeder, Central California Sheets, opens in Kingsburg, California.

2014

March GHS merges with Integrity Fiber Supply to form the recycling business.

June In Bristol, Indiana, the eighth co-op sheet feeder, Alliance Sheets, home of the first 132-inch corrugator in North America, known as “Paulson’s Pride,” in honor of Terry Paulson, begins operations.

November TransCorr forms a new third-party-logistics operation, TransCorr Global Solutions, based in Detroit.

2015

January New-Indy Containerboard purchases Carolina Container Company, which operates box and sheet plants in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Kentucky.

April TransCorr merges with Indiana-based Venture Logistics, which doubles its fleet size, and enters the warehouse and fulfillment business.

June New-Indy Containerboard acquires the U.S. operations of Forest Resources, which includes Hartford City Paper, a medium mill in Indiana, and Hartford City Paper Recycling, a recycling operation in Indiana. The acquisition broadens New-Indy’s supply position of containerboard in the upper Midwest.

The Royal Group purchases Shillington Box in St. Louis, Missouri.

October StarCorr Sheets opens as the ninth co-op sheet feeder in Temple, Texas.

2016

January Indiana Knitwear, a manufacturer of licensed sports apparel and other sports-related garment items, based in Carmel, IN with manufacturing in Guatemala, is added to the portfolio of investments.

August The Royal Group purchases a corrugated sheet plant, Touchpoint, in Seymour, Indiana.

Venture Logistics opens a new rail-served warehouse facility in Indianapolis, in partnership with the Indiana Railroad.

December New-Indy Containerboard acquires TriPAQ, a packaging business with facilities in Santa Ana and Cerritos, California; and Mexicali and Tijuana, Mexico. New-Indy Containerboard acquires Container Service Corporation (CSC), a corrugated box plant headquartered in Ringgold, Georgia.

2017

February Integrity Fiber Supply purchases River Valley Paper Company, an Akron, Ohio-based recycling company with locations in Akron, Ohio; Syracuse, New York; Kalamazoo, Michigan; and Yulee, Florida.

March The tenth co-op sheet feeder, EnCorr Sheets, in Ontario, California, opens as the home of the second 132-inch corrugator in North America.

September Northern Sheets and Central California Sheets are sold to Packaging Corp. of America.

2018

July Mid-Atlantic Packaging acquired by TRG.

October The opening of North Star Sheets, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota, the eleventh co-op sheet feeder managed by Schwarz Partners.

December New-Indy Containerboard acquires Resolute Forest Products’ Catawba virgin paper and pulp mill located on the Catawba River in Catawba, South Carolina.

Preparing For the Next Chapter

2019

January Integrity Fiber Supply purchases waste brokerage company, Marck Trading, in Appleton, Wisconsin.

May New-Indy Containerboard acquires corrugated packaging and display company, Proactive Packaging and Display, in Ontario, California.

July Schwarz Partners celebrates 20th anniversary.

August The Royal Group acquires SPA Inc., in Milford, Ohio, which specializes in software and consumer electronics distribution, third-party logistics and multivendor programs.

September Schwarz Partners and Lauth Management partner on the construction of a new office building, Agora at the Proscenium, in Carmel, Indiana. Part of the office space consists of the new Schwarz Partners corporate office.

October The opening of Triumph Sheets, in Cleveland, Tennessee, the twelfth co-op sheet feeder managed by Schwarz Partners, which has the largest triple-wall corrugator in the United States.

2020

January New-Indy Containerboard acquires Montebello Container Company with corrugated box facilities headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California.

The thirteenth co-op sheet feeder, StarCorr de Mexico, begins operations in Monterrey, Mexico.

April New-Indy Containerboard acquires Shoreline Container, which operates box and sheet plants in Holland and Zeeland, Michigan.

June Triumph Sheets and Tennessee Valley Converting begin operations.

August TRG acquires Pinnacle Packaging.

October Schwarz Partners moves their corporate office to the newly build office at the Agora at the Proscenium in Carmel, Indiana.

Keep Growing for The Future

2021

April GenCorr acquired by TRG.

October Independence Corrugated begins the expansion of their footprint by adding a new Quantum Line Corrugator from Fosber. Independence Corrugated now operates out of two facilities: Independence East, and Independence West.

2022

February The Royal Group developed an Electronic Key Delivery platform which provides a simplified and consistent way for retailers to transmit digital keys from software and digital product companies directly to their end customers.

August Progress Container acquired by TRG.

September Through strong relationships with industry veterans, STS Packaging, a leading manufacturer of food packaging products for some of the world’s best known brands, begins operations.

October Flutes Inc. adds a 2nd sheet feeder plant in Indianapolis, more than doubling their capacity. The addition of this new operation allowed for the company to rebrand as Flutes Corrugated.

2023

January Corrugated Partners Group, commonly referred to as CPG, formed as a brand aligning all sheet feeder operations under a single name.

March TRG acquired Innovative Fiber.

June Expanding the CPG sheet feeder operations, Keystone Sheets was formed in Pennsylvania, beginning daily operations later that year.

2024

April StarCorr Sheets in Temple, Texas completes installation and begins operations of a 2nd on-site corrugator.

June StarCorr Sheets goes live with Print+, a first-in-the-nation inline printing service that produces corrugated sheets with custom printed monochrome graphics.

2025

April NorthWest Packaging acquired by TRG to expand its operation into the upper midwest.

July Trans World Marketing acquired by TRG, expanding its footprint and product lines in permanent displays.

July The BHS Xceed printer investment and installation approved, which will make TRG be the first company to offer inline single-pass color printing directly onto linerboard rolls.

2026

January SEMO Box Company acquired by TRG.

February Chillicothe Packaging and Churmac Industries acquired by TRG.

April Xceed printer officially begins operations with the production of its first fully printed linerboard roll, designed to streamline and accelerate the sheet-making process when full-color printing is required.

May Columbia Container acquired by TRG.
