The Schwarz Family Foundation was established to honor and support the employees who are the heart of the organization by investing in their families’ educational journeys.
What began as a small scholarship initiative has grown into a meaningful annual program awarding significant financial support to students pursuing college, vocational, and trade school paths. In addition to scholarships, the Foundation contributes to community-based education efforts in Central Indiana, helping expand access to learning and life-skills development. At its core, the Foundation reflects a long-standing belief that education creates opportunity—and that supporting employees extends beyond the workplace.
Helping Educate the Next Generation
The Schwarz Family Foundation is a private charitable organization dedicated to supporting initiatives that support local institutions, expand educational opportunities, and give back to our communities.
The Schwarz Family Foundation was born from a simple but powerful idea shared around the family dinner table—to support the people who give their all to the company every day. With a deep belief in the power of education, the Foundation was established to provide meaningful scholarship opportunities to employees and their families.
Since awarding its first scholarships in 2015—three scholarships of $3,000 each—the program has grown alongside the company. What began as a small initiative has expanded into a significant annual investment in the next generation. In 2020, the Foundation awarded 18 scholarships valued at $8,000 each. Most recently, 25 scholarships of $10,000 each were awarded, reflecting both the growth of the organization and its continued commitment to education.
Supporting Dreams, Strengthening Communities
At its core, the Foundation focuses on scholarships for employees’ children, helping them pursue college, vocational training, or trade school opportunities. The goal is not only financial support, but recognition—ensuring recipients feel honored and celebrated for their achievements. Scholarship applications are administered in partnership with Mid-Ohio, which manages the process and selects recipients each year.
Beyond scholarships, the Foundation also supports education initiatives in Indianapolis, Zionsville, and Fishers. This includes support for programs like the Dream Center in Indianapolis, which provides education, financial literacy, life skills training, and resources for individuals working to rebuild and support their families.
From heartfelt thank-you notes to celebratory award presentations—often featuring a “lottery-style” check and personal congratulations—the impact of the Foundation is both meaningful and deeply personal.
At the end of the day, the mission is simple: to invest in education in all its forms and to support the incredible employees who make the company strong.
This year, six new scholarships were awarded to graduating high school seniors who are the children of our team members. We congratulate these students and wish them great success in the next chapter of their education.
